EPB said...: In his inaugural address and with several physical nods to Jim McGovern, Joe Petty went out of his way to show fealty to the police, fire and teachers unions.

We heard the words "safe" and "safety" several times in the first part of that speech.

While it is bold to talk about an exam school or money for public parks, there was no drive to talk about small businesses or even incubator cultures like Gateway park.

It was all about expanding "services (read "government") in one form or another.
