Kate Toomey's Political Donation Report

Folks, this page alone totals $8,095 in political donations.

And the ole girl has a record going back to 2002. Imagine if she spent that money on helping the needy? Instead a bunch of sleazy polits - including herself gets the money.

The really sad thing about this is that the monies are tax deductible.

Change the law.

I beg to differ.

To clarify. Certain monies are deductible. The fact is, the definition of deductibility is
fluid. You're right in the sense of the simple IRS definition. But...

It doesn't have to be money.
What about services provided by persons and corps. to polits? Think PAC's?

Monetary donations by corps and individuals, as in her case to her committee/campaign, are not. But services provided are, but who claims those when it difficult to delineate? Again, think what PACs, and what they do for candidates? Keep in mind some PACs are 501's.

I checked to see if any local candidates are 501c3 etc., didn't find anything.

My point, ban any and all donations - direct and indirect. Yeah I know it’s an extreme opinion, and donations will never be illegal.

Let the candidate sink or swim simply on the merits of their arguments.

Surely there are some candidates with positions that deserve attention (that in itself is subjective), but don't make it into the mainstream.

Change the rules so that not one penny is deductible by any 501, even charitable ones that benefit politicians. Ban PACs too.

And once that's been implemented, what then do we have then for a election system?

At least something that doesn't correspond to the current debased democratic system. Was it ever not debased?

And rest assured, someone, somehow will find a way to get politician money to do their nefarious biding.
